NEW STANDARDS
IN THERMAL PRINTING
Zebra Technologies Europe has
introduced the 170 Xi thermal transfer
printer. With a high resolution
printhead and a wide print width, this printer produces
large, high quality labels,
printing at a speed up to six inches per second.
Satisfying a variety of compliance labelling specifications including the
ODETTE automotive industry standard, the CEN Metal Product Transport label
specification, and the EAN-128 retail shipping label standard, the unit’s
168mm print width eliminates the need to rotate label formats in many
applications.
Key to the performance of the Zebra 170 Xi
is its dual 32-bit RISC technology microprocessors. In conjunction with the
Zebra Programming Language, (ZPL), users can format labels
while printing for increased throughput. With a 300 dots per inch (12 dots
per mm) printhead, the 170 Xi uses
thermal transfer technology to produce
high resolution graphics, text and high density bar codes in compliance with
all bar code specifications.
Labels and tags up to 168mm wide by 246mm long can be printed, an optional
memory expansion allows the maximum print length can be extended to 990mm
(39’’).
